Community Garden

Brighter Living have been successful in receiving funding for a community garden at Southport Community Centre via Groundwork through Tesco’s ‘Bags of Help’ scheme and we hope work on this will be starting in late April/early May 2016 (fingers crossed!).

There will be many exciting opportunities for the public, particularly youth groups, to get involved in the development of the community garden and we look forward to working with you all soon.

We will be looking for a group of volunteers who are interested in gardening to help us maintain and develop the space into a great area for the community to really benefit from. We are having a food growing area, a recreation area and also a quiet, sensory area so there should be something for everyone.

The garden designs have been drawn up based on a number of workshops we held in 2015 with individuals already accessing the centre and the general public. If you are interested in helping us or have materials that we can use as we want it to be as eco friendly as possible we would love to hear from you!
